  It's true that nothing stays the same. This was my family's favorite restaurant when I was growing up. The burgers on dark rye were always so juicy that the bread got sopping wet - part of the experience. The prices are high for what is now a pretty mediocre burger. I can name 10-12 restaurants that have better, less expensive burgers.
  
  Going there satisfied my elderly parents' taste for old time's sake, but we never need to go back again. I had to send my burger back because it was dried up and overcooked. The restaurant wasn't even crowded on Mother's Day, which is kind of telling. The service was also so-so and our table was so close to the next one that my brother-in-law's chair was touching one at the next table. However, I do have to say that the onion rings are still to die for!

  Went here for an event- the food was great, though maybe a bit too greasy for my tastes.... Veggie options were limited by the host of the event, but the restaurant itself probably has some good options. Also, a small arcade is there for the kids, and their claw machine is one of the most fair ones I've seen in the Chicago area (though sadly it was broken on my last visit!)
